Album Review : Icarus Line

One of my favourite albums of the past ten years is Icarus Line's hard-hitting, sleaze-rock opus Penance Soiree. So, when anything is released by Joe Cardamone's band of rock n' roll reprobates, I'm always interested.

Released this week, Wildlife is the band's new record and sees them returning to some kind of form close to their vintage days. As usual, the goods are over at The Line Of Best Fit.

If you like your rock n' roll with a bit of swagger, you can read more right here.

Album Review : The Deer Tracks

It's August, so it's time for some icily cool electropop, right? Well that's what Sweden's The Deer Tracks think anyway, as they've chosen this month to release new album The Archer Trilogy Pt 2.

As the title suggests, it's the second release in a trilogy of records from this boy-girl duo and it's a record of euphoric Nordic pop, perfectly suited for a review on The Line Of Best Fit.

So, if you'd like to hear and read more just do the usual clicking thing.

Album Review: P.G. Six

Here at 78sDW, we love a bit of Neil Young and Crazy Horse, and by extension most things that crackle with electricity and sound a bit country rock. So, when the new record by P.G. Six appeared in my inbox I couldn't simply ignore it, could I?

Starry Mind is out now on Drag City, and it's a fine record of duelling guitars, Laurel Canyon harmonies, and some ropey hippy lyrics. As usual, you can find my review over at The Line of Best Fit, or head straight to it by clicking here.

Album Review : Razika

Alright, so it's been a quiet August round these parts so far....but no-one's bothered to kick up a fuss, meaning my laziness remained. However, fear not dear reader because we're back in business!

And what better way to start off than by introducing you to Razika, a young Norwegian foursome who bring the sunshine in the form of some marvellous Ska-pop. They're four young women, all aged 20, and debut album Program 91 is the sound of summer in the space of 31 minutes.

It's got The Line of Best Fit recommended status already, and you can read more about the album simply by skanking your way over here!
